Come and Play!Come and Enjoy!

The Northern Colorado Concert Band is an adult concert band for musicians with prior high school or college band experience. The band was formed in 1980 and we are proud to be starting our 29th year.

The NCCB practices from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm every Monday night from the Monday after Labor Day until early May (the exact date depends on the scheduling of the last concert) at the Windsor High School band room (1100 Main Street) [map]

There are no auditions for membership or seating in the group. Members sit wherever they feel comfortable. In many sections, people trade "chairs" so no one feels stuck in one place. We collect membership dues ($60.00 regular, $25.00 student, arrangements can be made for those who cannot afford the dues). Dues pay for a stipend for the director, rental of the rehearsal room and new music.

For more information, please contact any of the board members or just dust off your instrument and come join us!

Bert Aguirre, Conductor
Bert Aguirre has been involved with music since before he could talk--beginning with playing washboard to his grandfather's fiddle.

Years later, in 1999, he graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor's degree in music education with piano as a primary instrument of study. While at UNC, Mr. Aguirre completed an undergraduate honors thesis entitled, The Effects of Musical Study: A Synthesis of the Philosophy of Music with the Psychology of Emotion and Intelligence. He then went on to teach music in the public schools for six years.

Currently, Mr. Aguirre is in his third year of teaching English at South Valley Middle School in Platteville and maintains an active studio of private piano students. He is absolutely thrilled to be conducting a band once more.
